DSR-8580 is a very efficient acrylic acid alkali swelling thickener. It is a polyacrylic acid lotion with a high degree of crosslinking, and contains some hydrophobic modified structures. It is suitable for the formulation of high PVC interior walls, as well as the formulation systems such as elastic roughening, stone like paint and texture paint.

Application and Usage:
DSR-8580 suggests adding 0.2-0.5% (in finished form) to the total amount of coating, and the specific dosage should be based on experiments; Before use, adjust the pH value of the thickening system to 8-9 with alkali, then dilute DSR-8580 with water in a ratio of 1:3, slowly add it under low-speed stirring, and stir thoroughly for more than 30 minutes.
DSR-8580 has good applications in high, medium, and low PVC systems. Due to its high crosslinking degree, it is recommended to use the viscosity of the coating after 24 hours of preparation for the first time to prevent rapid increase in system viscosity caused by excessive dosage.
DSR-8580 is insensitive to lotion and emulsifiers, and has strong versatility in various formulation systems, which can partially replace cellulose. DSR-8580 can effectively improve low shear viscosity, making the coating have high pseudo plasticity and excellent water retention, while also having appropriate viscosity. It can be used as the main thickener or as a co thickener to achieve excellent thickening effect.
Coatings using DSR-8580 as the main thickener have a high yield value and are suitable for preparing textured paints with three-dimensional patterns. If you want to achieve round or orange peel pattern effects, we recommend using DSR-8728 or DSR-8513 in combination to improve water resistance and achieve a certain level of leveling. In real stone paint and texture formulas, adding a small amount of DSR-8580 can achieve ideal thickening effect and good thixotropy, making it easy to spray and scrape construction.
The use of DSR-8580 alone or in combination with other thickeners has several advantages, including high thickening ratio, excellent thixotropy, significant improvement in coating water separation when added later, and resistance to microorganisms and mold.
