Product Description

DSR-420 rheological aid is an economical and universal alkali swelling thickener. It is in the form of an easy to use lotion and aims to completely or partially replace the cellulose thickener in various water-based systems.

DSR-420 rheological agent provides efficient thickening effect and a good balance between anti sagging and leveling properties in the medium shear rate range. DSR-420 contributes to high shear viscosity and provides greater brushing resistance compared to cellulose thickeners

Application and Usage:
DSR-420 is an alkali swelling thickener that requires appropriate pH adjustment with ammonia or aminomethylpropanol to achieve complete activation. In typical latex paints, it is recommended to have a pH value of at least 8.0. In some vinyl acrylic coatings, the pH value tends to drift downward (decrease). Using calcium carbonate or wollastonite fillers will help maintain the pH value during storage.
